The Volvo C30 SportsCoupe is based on the Volvo C30 Design Concept, first seen at the Detroit auto show in January, and also carries some design influence from the recent Volvo Safety Concept Car as well as the classic Volvo P1800ES and 480ES.
“We are broadening our model programme to make it possible for new, younger customers with a busy lifestyle to choose a Volvo with the right appeal as early as possible,” says Fredrik Arp, CEO, Volvo Car Corporation.
The new Volvo C30 will compete against rivals such as the Audi A3 and BMW 1-series and will be available with a wide choice of engines, ranging from a 100PS, four-cylinder 1.6-litre petrol engine or a clean and efficient four-cylinder, 1.6-litre diesel with 109PS, to five-cylinder D5 diesel and T5 petrol turbo engines, providing 180PS and 220PS respectively.
Full prices and specifications for the Volvo C30 will be released later this month with the first deliveries to Volvo dealers around the turn of the year.
