The concept was created by Robert Engelmann, Matthias Hahnen, Tilman Hauck and Tobias Wohlfahrt, Industrial Design students at HBKsaar (Saarbrücken, Germany).
The project was supervised by Prof. Lutz Pankow and Prof. Harald Hullmann. The goal was to implement an innovative technique into a formal and functional design solution.
The model is based on a Smart Roadster chassis. The two outer parts of the "276" are made of glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP), the black inner part is made of steel.
The students worked for more than one year on this project, which was for three of them the pre-diploma.
Main features include a unique self luminescent paint, an innovative light-concept which is shining crossway and the interior made of folded steel sheet.
