Rally Fighter Light Bar Competition
Local Motors has announced the Light Bar Competition, an engineering contest that asks participants to create a light bar for the upcoming Rally Fighter production off-roader. The company has made the chassis data publicly available. The deadline is 20 July 2009.
L'argus 8th Design Competition
French magazine L’argus de l’automobile has launched its 8th European Design Competition, with the brief "Less is more: travelling in the era of simplicity". The contest is open to European design students and the submission deadline is 11 December 2009.
Detroit Motors Competition: the winners
Local Motors has announced the results of the Detroit Motor design competition. The first three places were respectively won by Dmytro Zyubyairov from Germany, French Mayeul Walser and Romanian Mihai Panaitescu.
Allivision09 Design Competition
Czech magazine AutoDesign&Styling in partnership with Allivision has announced the first edition of "Allivision09 - Ideas for a Better World", a competition open to designers under 35 years which asks to create an eco-concept car for the near future. The submission deadline is 31 August 2009.
Opel/RCA Design Competition: the results
The winners of the design competition organized by the Royal College of Art and sponsored by Opel. The first place was won by French student Augustin Barbot, who presented a futuristic magnetic levitation vehicle.
DesignerTechniques 3rd Competition: the winners
DesignerTechniques has announced the results of its 3rd design competition focused on commercial trucks inspired by a non-automotive brand. The first three prizes were respectively won by Flavio Michellod, Nicholas Bormann and Silingov Vitaliy.

Local Motors has announced its Detroit Motor Competition, which asks designers to create a vehicle targeted to the Detroit-based entrepreneurs who will revitalize the Motor City. The submission deadline is next 5th May 2009.

In celebration of the 40th year of the UK's Royal College of Art (RCA) Vehicle Design course, Opel is sponsoring a competition for students. The task is to envision how the future of Opel mobility might look like 40 years from now.
Carolina Motors Competition: the winners
Local Motors has announced the results of its Carolina Motors Design Competition. The winning project is the Ducati-inspired DesmoSedici RR by Anthony Colard. The second and third prizes were respectively won by Julien Sarremajean and Giulio Partisani.
VDA Design Awards 2008: the winners
The winning entries of the 2008 VDA Design Awards, the competition open to design students with the theme "Transport Efficiency 2020". The projects focused on futuristic solutions aimed at efficiency and urban environments.
