At its world debut the Aston Martin One-77 has won the Concorso d'Eleganza Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes in Villa d'Este, on the shores of Lake Como, Italy.

Renault has announced that Laurens van den Acker, who had left from his position of General Manager of Mazda Design, will be Vice President of Renault Corporate Design, effective September 2009. He will replace Patrick le Quément who leaves the company after 22 years.

Moray Callum, currently director of design for cars at Ford Americas, has been appointed executive director, Ford Americas design, effective May 1. He will replace Peter Horbury, who will return to Volvo as vice president of design.

Autodesk has released the 2010 version of its SketchBook Pro 2D drawing and painting application. Among the new features are the simmetry sketching, blur/sharpen and rotate canvas tools.

Wacom has launched the Intuos4, the newest generation of its high performance professional pen tablet available in four sizes. New features include 2048 pressure levels, a new tip sensor and illuminated function keys. Prices start from $229.

Volvo has announced that Peter Horbury will be the new Vice President of Design, filling the position left by Steve Mattin. Horbury, who is currently Executive Director of Design at Ford Motor Company, already directed the design for Volvo from 1991 to 2002.
