Nissan has announced that it will produce an all-new compact car in its Sunderland plant in the UK, starting in 2010. A teaser sketch of a sporty crossover has been released.

Unveiled at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, the Evalia was a futuristic vision of a compact family car, created by London-based Nissan Design Studio. Among the features were the parallel opening front and rear doors and the lack of a central B-pillar.

Nissan has unveiled the long-wheelbase version of its Qashqai compact crossover, with seven passengers capacity. It will go on sale in Europe starting from October 2008.

At the 2008 New York Auto Show Nissan will unveil the Denki Cube, a lithium-ion battery-powered electric concept vehicle that previews the brand's future small car strategy for the North American market.

The Hurricane Li-Ion is a concept by Paolo Martin. The car is based on the electric powertrain of the Nissan Mixim Concept and features an extremely low body design, an original 4-seat layout and an innovative multifunctional headlight unit.

Nissan North America has partnered with the Brooks Institute film school and the Pratt Institute art and design school to showcase the Cube model in 5-10 minutes short films. Final works will be presented at the 2008 New York Auto Show.

Nissan has opened a new design studio in San-Yi, Taiwan. The Yulon Nissan Design Center (YNDC) employs 40 designers from Taiwan and around the world.

Nissan OneOne combines personal mobility with the family-robot concept. Powered by a skating-like propulsion and guided by a GPS system, it is capable of tranporting passengers without the driver.

Presented by Nissan at the 2006, the Murano GT-C Concept is a special sporty version of the 4x4 SUV, developed by Nissan UK. Among the features is the turbocharged engine that delivers 340hp.
