Tesla designer Franz von Holzhausen talks about the design of the 2011 Model S model and the opportunities offered by the all-electric powertrain.

The Tesla Model S is a pure electric sedan that combines a 7-passengers capacity with a dynamic design, a 300 mile range and a quick charge time of 45 minutes. Production is expected to start in late 2011 with a base price of $49,900.

Tesla Motors has launched the Roadster Sport, a high-performance version of its Roadster all-electric sportscar, capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Deliveries will begin in June 2009.
